Abu Dhabi-UAE: 14 November 2019 – Jaheziya, a leading regional training provider for safety and disaster management, has signed a 10-year memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ).

His Excellency Ali Mohamed Al Ahbabi, Chairman of Jaheziya, along with Captain Salem Al Afkham Al Hamoudi, Director of FOIZ, and Abdulmunim Saif Al Kindy, Executive Director of the Upstream Directorate at ADNOC, signed the agreement before the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2019) that is underway at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 11 to 14 November 2019.

The MoA mandates Jaheziya to establish, manage and operate an integrated emergency response and management service centre at FOIZ that will also serve the ADNOC Main Oil Terminal. The company aims to augment ADNOC’s state of the art firefighting system and existing emergency response capability with an additional 52 firefighters and related supplies, including satellite equipment. Jaheziya also plans to provide scenario-based training to emergency responders over the stipulated decade-long contract period.

Speaking on the significance of the partnership, His Excellency Ali Mohamed Al Ahbabi said: “Building preparedness and robust emergency response measures is critical to ensure smooth operations following unforeseen accidents and crises. We are pleased to be the emergency response provider of choice for FOIZ and ADNOC, and look forward to bolstering their confidence and readiness through physical resources and knowledge-sharing initiatives over the next 10 years.”

Captain Al Hamoudi said: “Supported by its extensive experience in the field, Jaheziya is well-suited to provide critical emergency response services to FOIZ. We are keen to embark on this partnership and are confident it will prove to be meaningful and long-lasting.”

For his part, Mr. Al Kindy said: “The augmentation of ADNOC’s emergency response assets in Fujairah with Jaheziya’s additional resources means we are able to respond to emergencies outside our terminal as well as within. This reinforces ADNOC’s commitment to the safety of people as its top priority. We are confident that this partnership will enhance the safety and emergency response capabilities in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ), and further underscores ADNOC’s drive to support the Emirate of Fujairah and enhance overall emergency preparedness..”

Jaheziya is the UAE’s leading provider of industrial, aviation and maritime firefighting and rescue services for high-risk facilities and critical assets. It is part of the Trading & Mission Support cluster of EDGE, a newly launched advanced technology group for defence and beyond.
