225+ positions with shortlisted candidates for final interviews
Abu Dhabi-UAE: 10 February, 2020 – EDGE, the advanced technology group for defence and beyond, today announced that it received in excess of 9,000 applications for over 400 jobs following its participation at Tawdheef 2020, that ran from 27 to 29 January.
From the close of the event, operating with speed and transparency, EDGE shortlisted, contacted and set up interviews with over 1000 candidates within two working days. All 1000+ interviews had been conducted within three working days, between 5 and 7 February. The advanced technology company also extended over 100 conditional offers of employment on 10 February, completing the entire first-round hiring process from initially receiving applications, within seven working days. Meanwhile, shortlisted candidates for 225+ positions will undertake an additional stage in the recruitment procedure.
During the process last week, candidates underwent a 60-minute rigorous assessment before being interviewed by EDGE or one of its entities. At Tawdheef, the company’s booth included a preliminary assessment to align the applicant’s skillset to one of EDGE’s five core clusters: Platforms & Systems, Missiles & Weapons, Cyber Defence, Electronic Warfare & Intelligence, and Trading & Mission Support. It also hosted a series of activations and interactive games, including a Strategic & Tactical Augmented Table and the experiential TalentQuest, to challenge prospects’ strategic awareness and mission readiness. Leveraging its technological resources to create a unique hiring process and experience, EDGE continues to build a pipeline of extraordinary talent in line with its product development roadmap, as it seeks to disrupt the industry with proficiency.
His Excellency Faisal Al Bannai, CEO and Managing Director, EDGE, said: “At Tawdheef, EDGE demonstrated its cutting-edge capabilities to thousands of individuals and inspired a large pool of prospective employees. Since then, we have moved with incredible speed and efficiency to ensure that we secure the best and brightest at EDGE. We are confident that the candidates we hire will emerge as next generation leaders, strengthening our efforts to boost the UAE’s knowledge-based economy. As we seek to position ourselves as a global industry leader providing unique opportunities, talent will always be at the core of our business.”
With job openings offering a clear career path in the advanced technology and defence domains, EDGE’s presence at Tawdheef sought to attract some of the nation’s most exceptional talent.
Tawdheef supports the government mandate of boosting the share of UAE nationals in the local workforce. Having attracted more than 15,000 visitors, this year’s edition was well attended.
