EDGE GROUP STATEMENT ON UAE ARMED FORCES UNIFICATION DAY

On the 46th UAE Armed Forces Unification Day, we honour and offer our profound appreciation and gratitude to all those who serve, and have served, in our nation’s Armed Forces – and to those who have earnestly contributed to our country’s safety and security. Their unwavering dedication to support and defend our nation has been vital in safeguarding peace and growing prosperity for all citizens and residents of the UAE.

UAE Armed Forces Unification Day is an opportunity to honour and to collectively reflect on the sacrifices of our service personnel, who, without hesitation, serve on the frontlines to protect and keep us safe. Today, we salute them for their past achievements and ongoing work, and we honour their relentless commitment to ensure a strong sovereign state.

As we pay tribute to those who serve, we must remember our late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the leaders of the Emirates who made the wise decision to unify the UAE Armed Forces, underscoring the vision to establish a powerful nation capable of maintaining its security and defending its interests.

On this national occasion, we also extend our deepest appreciation and congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and the Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for driving the continued modernisation of our country and guiding the Armed Forces in promoting peace and stability at the regional and international levels.
